Direct Protein Dye-Staining

Normally Coomassie and similar dyes are used for staining proteins after SDS-, native electrophoresis or after isoelectric focusing.
Sensitivity should be 10 ng after SDS- or native electrophoresis and 100 ng after IEF.
Recipes are available with separate first fixing step. Others like stated here stain with one step.
Normally after staining a destaining of the background follows the staining step
